Register Interest above if you would like to know when tickets for the event are available. We will then email you to let you know when tickets will be available. Please register tickets for pupils only, interested adults can take part - please contact for further details.

When tickets become available, numbers will be restricted to the capacity of the venue. If this event is over-subscribed, priority will be given to pupils in Year 8 and Year 9 at Our Lady's High School.

Hackademy 'Inside the Machine' Event gives children aged 11 - 16 years old a chance to engage with some 'hands on' computing projects. Click on the links in orange to discover more about these.

Click here to watch a short video in which Mr O'Donohoe explains what will happen. Please note that there is another event on Friday Nov 4th called 'Hackademy - After Hours' for families to compete in teams with pizza, pop and prizes.

There will be a number of different projects taking place on the day, including:-

In the 1970s and 1980s many people bought kits to build their own computers and then upgraded them. Modern computers are rarely designed to be opened, fixed or upgraded - this can make it difficult for people to find out how a computer works. This event provides youngsters with an opportunity to get inside the machine to see what is happening, understand how it works and try to connect it to outside, real world events.

Even if you have never experienced anything like this before, come along to learn, collaborate, build, design and find out about more about computing.

No previous experience is necessary - all that is needed is an appetite for technology, electronics, computers and an active imagination.

Pupils will be asked to make a voluntary contribution of £20 to help cover costs of the resources, this will enable pupils will to take their creations home. If the cost is an issue, please don't let this prevent you from taking part - it just means you wont be able to take anything home with you.

If you have any questions - choose 'contact the host' in the 'hosted by' box.

If this event proves more popular than space will allow, we will give priority to pupils in Year 8 & Year 9 at Our Lady's High School.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, but pupils will need to bring a packed lunch with them.

This event will take place in the Guild Training centre at Our Lady's High School.
